The recepcionist that received me, and the staff in general were professional
The room. "Shut in" room and the bed was surprisingly bad compared to normal starwood standards; "floating" bed sheets and very soft pillows that just made the night not good.

Our Junior Suite was good. As it was on the top floor it was very quite. The room was very clean and we appreciated the big towels. Cappuccino is excellent !
I have ordered a bottle of Champagne in advance by email to be placed in our room prior we check-in for the birthday of my boyfriend. Unfortunatelys, the lady at the reception by check-in ask us if we wanted a bit of champagne in the room, so it wasn't a surprise anymore. I m not happy about that at all as this shouldn't happen in this hotel category. The gym and spa are not at the hotel but at the Holmes Place Club 10 min away from the hotel. This is a a lie in the description of the hotel !

Fantastic location. We stayed in a junior suite and it was very spacious with beautiful views. The bed was extremely comfortable. To me the only downfall is that there is no free wifi in your rooms I think this should now in today's day and age be standard. We ate twice in the restaurant and the food was excellent.

It was well located with an english speaking front of the house staff.
We disliked the overall pretension of the hotel the music in the elevators, the constant stressing that the hotel would open your mind to art. The lighting in the room was inadequate for reading. in order to recharge or operate any electronic equipment one had to unplug a light fixture, ie no additional electric outlets were provided. Yet internet was only avaialble on a per day rate.

The hotel is not fully refurbished. The staff is fair. Wifi is poor. During my last trip I went to 2 Meridien hotels and I was very disappointed in both. I will definitely not stay in any other Meridien for it is not a true 5 star hotel.

Good evening Le Meridien, Firstly I had emailed twice previously to organise and confirm our booking and to ensure that we were provided an upgrade as stated by the Starwood letter we received (2 letters infact) to confirm our membership number and advise of the additional services and benefits we are to expect as Gold members. We checked and were greeted by Walter and he advised "he was expecting us"...only to then state that there was to be no upgrade as I had booked on Booked.net and and to also advise us that no points were to be allocated as we had booked on another site and not the starwood site. Initially after we had joined in March 2012, we were not able to book on the starwood site as we were not allocated a membership until several months later - as we purchased the Gold membership in March in Florida. We were not informed and unfortunatley we probably did not read the fine print of the terms and conditions... Anyhow, irrespective of this ,one would think that after 2 emails to advise of our booking, we would at least get the upgrade as stated on the greeting letter for Starwood members. No reponse to the second email except to advise of the query we had re transport to and fro for a concert we had booked. We did receive a follow up call about an hur after check in to query as to whether the room was acceptable. I also wish to comment that your Business Center and printer are awful and we have wasted more than 2 - 3 hours in the last 3 days trying to print out E tickets etc etc. We stayed at The Westin in Madrid and we were treated exceptionally well. If we were to receive the mediocre treamtent we have had from Le Meridien the question would be "Why bother to join up as a Starwood member??" We have been treated like every other ordinary guest and the membership did not afford us any added TLC. Extremely disappointing. Le Meridien Barcelona, unfortunately pales in comparison with re to customer service and we are exceptionally disappointed.
Starwood membership and no upgrade as per the starwood awards and membership. No tlc and no follow up. Highly disappointing.

Location.
The Suite was not ready at 15.00 hours as promised. The staff was not accomodating and gave us a complimentary after screaming. The standby room was lousy, we had to change again. No drinking water in the room, instead of twin bed request they converted the sofa in a spare bed. We had booked for 3 nights and prepaid, however we left in one night.

The staff has been particularly helpful with us. Room with largely enough space for the baby cot. They landed us a baby chair for the all stay. Great recommendation on surrounding restaurants. And the hotel is very well located.
Price of the breakfast which we decided not to have.
